In 2022, 11 nuclear units were under construction in India, for a total of 8.7 gigawatts electric of capacity. India planned to complete the construction of these 11 nuclear reactors before 2030. The nuclear power plants being built with the largest energy capacity were Kudankulam 3 & 4 and 5 & 6, both with a capacity of two gigawatts electric.
